2013 04 04 - This is a warning for train travelers in Switzerland. As by the date of writing, Switzerland is in a open boarder contract with the failing EU. This means our boarders are not systematically controlled anymore. Lots of criminals from all over the world can enter and leave Switzerland uncontrolled. The crime per se has risen dramatically in the past few years and it only gets worse. The news report of gangster groups robbing train travelers by daily means. If you choose to use the trains in Switzerland exercise extreme caution and try to travel light in order to take your luggage with you at all times. Never leave your luggage unattended. Do not place your luggage out side the cabin near the entrance and exit.
Further more you need to be informed that Switzerland also implemented a new law for the free moving of EU labor into this tiny country. The result is that Switzerland is now flooded with immigrants from the EU looking for a better life. All public transports are now at almost any time of the day crowded and seats are rarely available. Even with a seat reservation its not guaranteed that you have the seat. You might end up in a frustrating argument with a “immigrant” or “asylum seeker” which is occupying your rightly reserved seat.
